NxGE

a peer tutoring network

NxGE is a peer tutoring network based out of Goleta, CA. In development since early 2023, we provide opportunities to give or receive tutoring to students in California. Our mission is to involve students statewide to provide a reliable substitute to paid tutoring services.

How it Works

  1. Student Schedules Session

    The tutee requests tutoring, and enters the specific course, session time, and subject. Our system algorithmically searches for tutors based on expertise and availability. The tutee selects which tutor they would like to receive help from to complete the booking process.

  2. Tutoring Session

    The students join a video call on Google Meet. There, the tutor is able to assist the tutee remotely.

  3. Session Logging

    The tutor completes a short overview of what was covered during the session and logs the time taken. This log is reviewed and appropriate community service hours are granted to the tutor.
